This is a little delayed but better late then never! Elias celebrated his 5th birthday on Tuesday! He has been looking forward to turning 5 since about a month after he turned 4! He sprang right out of bed in the morning and enjoyed some doughnuts and his favorite cereal for breakfast! We had a pretty busy and rushed morning, mass then lunch, school and naps, it flew by! Mass went later then expected so Elias got McDonalds for lunch, which wasn't part of the original plan, but this birthday boy was excited about it so we ran with it.
While Elias was at school and the other two napping, Kellie and I baked the cake/cupcakes and did homemade decorations. Brandon wanted to go buy them but I refused. Decorations are sooo expensive and usually get ruined. We made chain link streamers, blew up some balloons we already had and Brandon printed off pictures of superheros that we hung all over. Let me tell you , this kid was happy as could be when he walked in and saw all of his decorations! Best part, we didn't spend a dime!
We picked Elias up from school a little early, a special treat for him since he usually rides the bus. Annie came with me to his class room and had fun meeting all of his friends. His class threw him a little party with a treat and sang him happy birthday. He was having a special day already! We surprised him and took him to the water park in the gym we go to. The kids usually aren't great big fans of water but oh boy did they LOVE this play area!! It is pretty much all zero depth and there is such a large area that they can walk and feel comfortable in the water. Annie usually screams and clings to dear life to those holding her but she was running around like the crazy Annie kat we know! We will DEFINITELY be going here a lot more, especially since it's included in our membership. Benjamin wasn't as big of a fan as I would have expected, he LOVES bath time but was not too happy about the pool area. In fact, we ended up calling Grandma Mim to come and pick him up because he was so sad. Come to find out the poor kid is getting all 4 molars in at the same time and was just not feeling so hot. So, Mr. Benjamin left and the big kids played for awhile longer until it was time to head home to the party!
Elias playing in the slide, doesn't he look just like the chipmunk?

Me and my birthday boy
Uncle Jordan and Kellie helped me take the kids home while Daddy and Grandma Mim went to get the pizzas for the party! Kelli kept Annie entertained by putting on her makeups, a new favorite for our Annie and Benjamin pretty much just walked around destroying. After a few attempts at some failed family pictures, the party guests started to arrive. Grandma, Grammy, papa, Gavin, Kellie, Andrew, Dan and Uncle Jordan were all on hand to help Elias celebrate the big #5. Everyone was too full after pizza for cake so we opted for presents first. Elias made a haul of legos!!!!! He got police legos, fireman legos( thanks to Aunt Nikki) Super hero legos and just plain legos...he was one happy boy!
How did he get so big!

Benjamin continues his sitting every trend...notice the men hard at work in the background
Kellie bought Elias a super cute twins shirt, we put in on Benj...I'd say it fits.
All that gift opening made everyone hungry enough for some cake! I didn't really get any good pictures of the actual song/blowing out candles bit but such is life with 3 little ones. We ate a bit of cake then it was down to serious busniess, assembling the legos! The men started constructing while the women folk cleaned up. Daddy took a break and Elias reluctantly agreed to let Kellie help put together his legos. He spent he evening ( and every day since then) playing with all of his new toys!
CHEESE...yummy cake
Annie sporting her new princess dress that Kelli bought her...I think Kellie is trying to win Annie over with makeup and glitz:)

Elias...what is that? A fireman lego....ugh, so not cool. Aunt Nikki is funny! Elias enjoyed it though!
