March Gymnastics Meets

March brought a few more gymnastics meets for my crew. We had our home meet, Lucky Chance as well as State in Fargo!

First up, Lucky Chance. The meet was on a Friday Morning and sadly I didn't get to stay long. We brought the entire family and Samuel was feeling sick so Samuel and I left with the two younger ones in case he puked. Brandon said Benjamin did well. Not his best meet but not his worst! His team got first and he finished 7th out of 8.

Next up was Annie's lucky chance meet. I had to volunteer a lot in concessions as well as on the floor since it was our home meet. Annie hung out at the gym helping out and socializing with her friends when she wasn't competing. The gym is really her second home. I didn't get a lot of pictures of her but she had a great meet. She had friends and family( other than just me) that came and watched and she placed in the top three on most events.

The end of March brought the end of gymnastics season and the state meet. The theme this year was Hollywood or something. I'm not exactly sure but the boys got these cute shades.
The meet once again was later in the evening. In fact, we pulled into the parking lot, late and Benjamin was snoring. I turned to Annie and said " I think its not going to be a great meet when Benjamin is snoring 3 minutes before warm-ups!" I woke Benjamin up and he perked right up and ran into the gym to meet his team.

The boys had a great meet. The level 4s won state whoop whoop and all our guys did really well! A big thank you to Benjamin's coaches for helping him focus and learn all sorts of new skills and a big thank you to his team for including him and being great friends!

The next day I drove BACK up to Fargo for Annie's state meet! We had a major jam session to Taylor Swift ( we didn't have Mary) and I must say it was a jammin good time! Annie had a great meet. She placed 2nd on beam and 3rd on floor and 5th all around. She qualified to regional s to make it a great state meet! A big thank you to all her awesome coaches( in their awesome shirts I made).

Annie was in the same session as our neighbors! They kindly brought her home since I literally had to run to the parking lot and speed home right after awards to let Brandon go to work!

My first season as a competitive gym mom was fun. We put lots of miles on the car but made a lot more memories! Season starts in a couple months and we are all very excited!

February Gymnastics Meets

February brought a couple more meets for the traveling Eberhardt kids. We road tripped to Jamestown, Minneapolis and Fargo. Mary was mostly great, except when for one spot on the way back from Minneapolis when she decided to scream for about 45 minutes. Thankfully I had picked up Michelle's mom Pam in Minneapolis and brought her back with me. She climbed in back and soothed Mary. I think that poor baby was just so sick of the car!

Mary got to hang out with Calvin some more and I got to hang out with Calvins parents! I tried to make a trip to Whole Foods but got caught in a blizzard. I did the next best thing and got Caribou...to go!

I am sure glad Michelle and Chad sent me with a Diet Coke. Nothing could prepare me for the nightmare of a meet I was about to encounter! The gym was small and had very tall very rickety old bleachers. The amount of spectators was huge and once they were all piled in, there was no way out. It was awful. The people next to me and I decided to make a break for it and Annie, Mary and I sat in the entry way( with windows into the gym) the rest of the meet. It was SO much more peaceful( and cooler!).

Gymnastics Meets Palooza

January was very busy with lots of gymnastics meets for both Annie and Benjamin.  Benjamin had one in Fargo and one in Minneapolis and Annie had one in Fargo and was supposed to have another one in South Dakota but weather prevented us from going to that one. Mary came along to all the meets and shockingly was absolutely perfect. Not a single meet went by without people telling me what a good baby she was. She didn't make a peep, smiled and slept.
Benjamin made improvements each meet as did Annie. Annie even won all around at her Fargo meet! The kids had a lot of fun traveling to the meets and we were very lucky that Grandparents were in town to help dad out so he didn't have to take any time off.

First up, we headed to Fargo for Benjamins meet. He did much better than the first meet and improved his all around score by over 2.0 points. In between events he could be found chatting it up with the head judge, because when you are 6 and you are bored, why not!

Next up, we packed up and headed to Minneapolis for a meet! We got into town a bit later than we wanted so we weren't able to stop and see Michelle and Chad or meet them for dinner. No problem, we will just eat concessions for dinner...oh wait. NO WE WON'T.  U of M shut down their concessions during a 5 pm meet. I thought Annie and I might starve to death until I realized there was a Domino's near by. In 20 minuets, we had hot pizza in our bellies! We got to Chad and Michelle's really late so we were not able to see Calvin. The next morning we woke up, played with the babies and had way too short of a visit. Brandon had to work that day so we needed to hit the road by 9 to try to get home to him in time. A very very big thank you to Michelle and Chad who always open up their house to us when we are in town for dance and gymnastics!

(This is our we survived downtown MSP drivingface)

3rd meet!

Last up, Annie had a meet in Fargo It was a quick day trip that Benjamin and Mary decided to come along for. Mary hung out with a variety of coaches and parents and I got to sit back and enjoy the meet. Annie did very well. She ended up with a few 1st places including a 1st place in the all around, she was pretty happy!
