My Little Monkey

Back in 2007 when I found out I was pregnant with Elias my mom laughed and say boy are you going to have your hands full! He is going to be climbing all over everything and jumping around all over everything...well she was wrong. Elias never did any of that ANNIE however does it constantly!! What the heck I thought it was supposed to be the little boys that were wild and crazy climbers! Annie will climb on anything! She has no fear. I decided to start taking pictures of all her climbing adventures.

Happy Birthday Elias!

It is so hard to believe that 3 years ago my 10lb baby boy was born! Now he is a tall skinny walking talking active snuggle bear! We started off his birthday with a yummy breakfast then it was time to pack up and head to the indoor water park that is at a local hotel. We picked up Kellie and headed there as one big happy family. We stayed for about a hour and a half, the water was a little cold and both kids had fun but boy were they cold! Elias and Annie enjoyed going down the slides, floating in the lazy river and splashing in the pool with Mom, Dad and Kellie. After the water park we stopped at McDonalds to get a special treat for Elias..cinnimon melts and some much needed food for the adults. The kids came home had a bath, lunch then crashed for a long nap! All that splashing makes for tired babies. After nap we hung out around the house until it was time for Elias' party at Happy Joes. Mom, Dad, Annie, Uncle Jordan, Grandma Mim, Jeff, Jim and Dan all came to help celebrate. Poor Elias and Annie had eaten so much already that day that neither one of them really ate dinner, but they sure were up for some serious arcade playing. Elias loved playing the basketball game while Annie was a big fan of climbing the skiball table! After all the fun at Happy Joes we came home for some yummy cupcakes and ice cream. Elias did a great job blowing out the candles and neatly eating his cupcake...the same can NOT be said for Annie. She was messy girl who got a instant sugar high. After cupcakes it was time for presents! Elias is a expert at opening gifts now. He got so many presents it was a fun time. Puzzles, books, clothes, money, giftcards, thomas train stuff. He is a loved little boy! After presents it was play time! Grandma Mim gave the babies baths and then it was time for bed, both kids crashed. It was such a great day with my little family. The cutest thing from the day has to be Elias telling everyone happy birthday. Grandma Mim pointed out we say goodbye and expect him to repeat we say i love you and he repeats so we say Happy Birthday and he says it back. Happy Birthday Mommy. Happy Birthday Annie. He is still telling me happy birthday a few days later..silly boy. I also just realised I probably can't call them the babies anymore since Elias is 3 and Annie is 1 1/2. My babies are growing up so fast, once again I feel so blessed I am able to stay home with them and witness it all!

Play Time with Daddy

This weekend I went to the WCHA Final Five Hockey Tournament with the UND Cheer team. Daddy got to stay home with the babies for about 50 hours all by him self! Grandma Mim was around to help out on Friday and Uncle Jordan came over on Saturday night but other then that he was on his own. I am happy to report the house didn't burn down and the kids were well fed and dressed and the house was even clean when I got home. I enjoyed 2 days of shopping, eating yummy noodles and company( we don't have one here) and of course Sioux Hockey! My friend Michelle bought the kids a play tent and tunnel and they had a great time playing in it while I was away. Elias would just lay in there with his music and listen, then he would get up run around climb through the tunnel and chill back out. He was so tired when it was all said and done he fell asleep at the dinner table! It may have had a little something to do with the time change too.

"Warm" at last

Well it has happened, we have hit a heat wave here in Grand Forks, ND. This week it got above 40...twice! With everyone dying to be outdoors again I did not miss out on this opportunity to bundle the kids up and go for a couple family walks. The first day Daddy had off so he came with us. We walked to the park and Elias and daddy played in the deep snow and on the playground and Annie and Mommy just walked and walked. The second day I ventured out on my own with the kids. It was wet and after splashing in a ton of puddles it was time to go inside only..the screen door wouldn't open!! Our screen door latch has a little part that is sticking out and sometimes catches and acts like the door is locked when it isn't. Good thing I had my cell phone, I called Brandon and he came to our rescue with his big mucles he pulled the door right open! Guess I know our first home improvement project of the spring. Well enjoy some pictures of us enjoying the warm weather!

Elias:Mom! Mom! Is it stuck? Is home stuck?
Me: Yes Elias It is stuck
Elias:Oh NO!
Me: Don't worry Daddy is coming to help us
Elias: Yaaa Daddy
The kids running to greet Brandon, I think they were worried we were never going to get in the house again!

Look What I Learned

The last couple of weeks have been big learning weeks for the Eberhardt children. I decided since I am home with them all day I might as well start the "home schooling" early. I decided to do a letter of the week and focus our craft projects around that letter. It is going far better then I could have possibly expected. Not only does Annie now know A and B by recognition ( and she will even give you the animal noice that goes with it ha) but Elias has taken a great interest in the alphabet and can name every letter and something that represents it. Now it is just a matter of teaching him the ABC song. I am not pushing that though, I want to keep learning fun and right now they are both loving it! I also got smart and after 3 years of begging children to smile for pictures Isimply taught them to say cheese with a big smile on their face. Works like a charm, well duh of course it does why else does every photographer use it. Oh well some things I guess I am just slow to catch onto. Both of the kids are learning how to be a good mommy and daddy. Elias likes to wrap up his babies and burp them and feed them and he is so gentle with them its too cute! If only he could carry some of that kind and gentleness over to Annie. Annie also made the big discovery that there are TWO lovies in the house. She has a lovie that was getting a little too loved so we bought a back up and kept the other one hidden. In a pinch we grabbed the back up and forgot to put it back and then both of the lovies ended up downstairs. I heard delightful squealing and giggling and turned the corner to see annie hugging and loving on both stuffed animals. Luckly I was able to sneak the other one back to its hiding spot before she knew it!
It is so fun watching these kids grow every day and I couldn't be more thankful that I get to stay home with them and see it all!

Look what I found Mom!! Today's letter of the week...A ( My favorte is the apple "stamps" we used. I didn't do a good job cutting the apples so we got yellow blobs oh well)

Potty Potty Potty

Potty has been the word of our household the last couple weeks. After Elias hit some seriously hard potty training regression it seemes to be every other word out of mine, brandon, Elias and now Annies mouth! The good news is that all this talk about potty training really has Annie interested. Today I had to go out and buy her a matching pink potty to her brothers blue one so they stop fighting over it. She doesn't get how to put her pee in the potty yet but every time she wets a diaper she runs over to me and says Potty! She loves to sit on the potty and likes to escape and run around naked. We are in no way attempting to potty train her being as she is only 17 months old but its fun to let her explore the facinating world of potty training. Here are some pictures of her being silly on the potty.

She was yelling POTTY POTTY POTTY at the top of her lungs. Silly girl.

Just chillin out
