Happy Thanksgiving

Ah, fall I miss you already. I love all the festivities that fall brings. The nostalgia really starts kicking in at Thanksgiving. The traditions, the excitement and all the fun activities bring back great memories from years past and great excitement for the kids for what is to come. 

This year for Thanksgiving Brandon worked the night before and the night of Thanksgiving so we had to do things a little different. We let him sleep until 11 then had an early Thanksgiving meal around noon. Just because daddy worked doesn't' mean we were short on traditions!

The kids got up early( excitement was in the air) and ran around like crazy children while I got the turkey in. We turned on the parade and watched all the balloons go by. We visited with cousin Gavin and Grammy when they dropped off rolls. Kellie came over with Ainsley and brought coffee, yum! Uncle Jordan came over and brought over the black Friday adds which we all spent time looking at. Grandma and Rob came over and brought the delicious mashed potatoes and dessert. Football, food family and fun rounded out the rest of the day. We were sad to see daddy go to work but he was able to stop by later and say good night to the kids! It was very difficult to get them to bed that night since they knew the next day Steve Chippy would be making his arrival and bringing out the Christmas decorations.

New Addiction

A few posts back, I mentioned how I have a new obsession, now I would like to talk about that here with you. 

I, Amber Eberhardt am a full fledged Vinyl addict!!!! There I admitted it! 

For Christmas last year( or 2 years ago?) Jordan gifted me a Cameo Silhouette that he used .5 times. It sat in our basement forever and then I finally made him take it back to try to sell it. It sat in his garage for awhile then I saw some shirts I wanted to make. I found a blog that I loved that explained everything so well so I decided to ask Jordan for the Silhouette back. He brought it back over and the rest is history. I have really only used it for vinly, mostly heat transfer but it does so much more. Here is just a small sampling of all the fun stuff I have made!

So as you can see, I have a problem. My basement is stuffed with fabric( lots of sewing projects on the horizon) and vinly so I am on a self imposed craft spending freeze until I can use up the massive collection I have acquired. Oh,vinly how I love you, and the kids, they are pretty great too!

O Christmas Tree

In mid- November we had a unique opportunity in our little town. The National Christams tree was selected out west and being transported through Grand Fork and making a stop in town square. They advertised for weeks about seeing the National tree and tried to make it sound like a fun community event. We decided that it would be so much fun to go down town and take a look at this massive Christmas tree in person. 

We bundled the kids up and got downtown about 15 minutes after the advertised "opening " time. What we saw was flocks of people walking back to their cars saying it was just a giant semi and not worth it....we decided welp we came all the way down we might as well see a giant semi up close!

The people were right, there was a small viewing in the front of the semi but otherwise it was all very bundled up and nothing for the kids to ohhh and awe over. We made it fun, letting whoever wanted to sign the truck, taking a few pictures, talking with some police officers and running into friends. 

 After the novelty of the giant truck wore off, we waited in line for hot coco but decided to use a gift card we had to Caribou instead. We loaded the kids up and headed for an INSIDE trip to Caribou. Everyone was well behaved, including Mary. No one got lost and nothing was broken. All in all a great family fun morning! 

All Saints Day

Surprised I am still keeping up with the daily blog posts? Here is a little secret, I sit here at my computer frantically typing out 5 or 6 at a time. That is why they are lacking even the most basic grammar and filled with spelling and word mistakes. It gives the ole blog some character though, no?

Any ways, onto November!

Every year for All Saints Day, we play hookey from school and throw a big party with our fellow Catholic friends. We used to do dress up but the kids have started to outgrow their Saint stash and I wasn't in the mood to remake 6 sets of Saint costumes. You know what I was in the mood for? VINYL! Who needs a Saint shirt? I have very few pictures of the actual party, but I have a lot of the kids in their sweet shirts.
