Elias' Birthday Part 2!

Thursday was the big day, the day Elias had been waiting for since Christmas, his 7th birthday!!!! Brandon had training all day and we had school but we tried to make the day as fun as we could. I dropped the ball on breakfast so Elias celebrated his big day with Cheerios. I don't think he cared too much since I let him open two small gifts in the morning.

We did some school work and got ready for the day then headed to Culvers to meet Brandon and Uncle Jordan on their lunch breaks. We don't really ever go to Culvers but it was the closest thing to when Brandon had his training and I am really glad we picked it, all the kids loved their food and ate really well, the free ice cream didn't hurt either!

The rest of the afternoon was pretty uneventful, naps and more school work, then Annie headed to gymnastics and Brandon got home from training (early)!Annie and I left the boys , who I assume played screen and ate junk food but ignorance is bliss!
When we returned the pizza was hot and ready and we all ate while Elias told everyone through his full mouth to hurry and eat so he could open presents. Elias was very helpful in clearing the table, I guess telling him we can't open gifts until everything was cleaned was a good idea.  Both Samuel and Benjamin cried during the gift opening, Benjamin was upset that Elias already had one birthday and he shouldn't get two and Samuel just wanted all the presents to be for him. He is going to be SO happy when his birthday rolls around and he gets to open all the gifts! The crying boys didn't bother Elias and  he happily tore open all of his gifts,of course being the most excited about his Disney Infinity characters.
 Sad Benjamin
 Happy Elias
 Sad Sad Samuel
I have no idea what is going on here but Brandon is being some guy from Guardians of the Galaxy
 Super excited about his charcters
We managed to get pictures with Uncle Jordan and Grandma but non with mom and dad, maybe next year!

 Time for Cake!!!

and because Brandon is the funnest parent in the world, he took tall the kids beds and put them in the middle of the floor and they had a movie and slumber party to cap off the big day. Samuel was down there too for awhile but had recently made his escape.

Happy Happy birthday my sweet 7 year old. This was an eventful year for you! You lost your first tooth, started homeschool, moved to a new house, got glasses and tried some new activities, like swimming! You have become more and more outgoing and love playing with all the kids in the neighborhood. You are still superhero obsessed and can frequently be found playing by yourself in a one man superhero battle. You love hanging out with your family, most of all your daddy! Your favorite thing to do with him is stay up "late" and play LEGO marvel or Disney Infinity. You have taken a special interest to Samuel lately, you don't know this but you two just might be twins born 6 years apart! You are turning into the bestest biggest brother there is! I can't wait to see what this year has in store for you, We love you!!

Elias' Birthday Part 1

I can't even being to believe that my first baby is almost 7 years old!!! Time is flying by way too quick! This year Elias really wanted to do something special for his birthday. We talked about a few options but it seemed like every place I called was booked, too expensive or the scheduling didn't work with the kids he wanted at his party. Brandon was outside the other night talking to our neighbors who mentioned they were going to CanadInn on Saturday morning, a light bulb went on! Our neighbors would already be there, Gavin and Elias friend Chance also had Saturday morning free. Because it was the morning, the CanadInn still had cabanas available and so boom, Elias got his friend- party! We hit up the water park around 10 with Uncle Jordan, PaPa, cousin Gavin and Skyla, his friend Chance and our neighbors! Grammy stayed at home with Samuel which was a great idea because it was busy, humid and LOUD! The kids( and adults) ran, swam, and played for a little over three hours! Somewhere in the middle of it all, we had a pizza and cupcake break. Elias got to open his presents from Grammy and PaPa but he has to wait to open the rest until his actual birthday on Thursday. It was a very tiring but very fun filled morning! Annie has her daddy princess dance tonight and after the three older kids are sleeping at Uncle Jordan's  ( with Daddy of course) so needless to say, Elias is thinking that today is one of the best day's ever! It was a very successful 1st friend birthday party!

There are three types of slides at this indoor water park. The first is a baby slide( see below) then there are a couple of bigger slides...then there is the tube slide! It is a large fast water slide that you can go down on in a double or single tube. It is quite entertaining to see the tubes shoot out, I captured a couple of great action shots. This one of Gavin and my dad being totally dumped out and upside down and another one of our neighbor Jim doing an awesome above water save of Annie, it was truly impressive!

Benjamin wasn't a huge fan at first, it took him a while to really warm up to the place, the hot tub definitely helped! I think Brandon's our big mistake was taking him to the area where there is a massive bucket that slowly fills with water then showers the place in a gush of cold water. Now anyone who asks him if he had fun he says" Yes, but you know what I do not like? I do not like the big red thing that feeds the water to the big bucket then the bucket spills EVERYWHERE, I do not like that part" He is so observant and funny!Anyways, he eventually learned to love it.

Annie and her buddy Anna. Annie went to the daddy princess dance with her buddy Ana. So all day we talked about Annie, Anna and Ana!

 Elias and Nathan
 Ready to eat!

I love this picture! She sure was loving her cupcake

Our neighbor Becky and her sweet Theo
Chance wasn't a big fan of the water slides but he warmed up and had a blast!!!
 Impressive Jim save

Cousins!

Such a fun afternoon, but so tiring!

More Pictures

It has been awhile since I got outside with the kids and my camera, so when we were taking festive pictures with Aunt Nikki's goodies, I decided to snap a few more for funsies! Benjamin and Samuel were over taking pictures, lets be honest, Samuel was never into it this day anyways! Annie and Elias did let me take a few of them though. I can't believe how much they are growing up!

Elias was really feeling the Hulk and desperately wanted to take a picture, so I agreed. I was uploading the pictures and he came across this one and thought he looked totally awesome...silly kid
