Ann's 1st Birthday!

Well today my baby turned 1. I can't believe a year has flown by. She started out her day with a Dr's visit due to a ear infection in her right ear. After her first dose of penicillin she was already feeling better. We spent the afternoon outside with Elias and enjoyed the September sun. We decided to have a small party this year. Elias's first and 2nd birthday were a little on the big side and with our small house we kept it to pretty much family and a couple of friends...and of course Ann's boyfriend! Ann's party started at 5 and the guests showed up right on time. We ate pizza then opened gifts and ended with the cake of course! She had a lot of fun and really enjoyed being the center of attention for once! Elias didn't have to feel to left out since Grandma Mim and Pam both brought him presents as well. Ann was pretty much done unwrapping gifts by the time he realised she was getting lots of new toys, books and clothes. We feel so blessed to have such giving friends and family in our lives. There was a lot of great moments but my favorite had to be the sippy cup war. Ann's "boyfriend" Logan had a sippy cup with some apple juice in it. Ann hasn't had apple juice that much and once she got a taste of it she wanted to keep it! Poor Logan got stuck with Ann's water. It was pretty cute watching her chase him down to steal his cup. Ann also gave her first kiss tonight! She walked up to logan and was poking at him so I asked if she would give him a kiss and she wrapped her arm around him and planted one on him! Of couse I missed the shot with my camera..bummer! All and all it was a great night and I am a little sad to see my baby girl growing up so fast but such is life.

Pumpkin Patch

Since Elias was born in March of 2008 I wanted to take him to a pumpkin and patch, this year I finally got the chance! We took a little family trip out to Nelson's Pumpkin Patch in Emerado ND on Sunday. Elias immediately took off running and was so excited to explore everything. We walked through the corn maze, the haunted trail and of course the pumpkin patch. Annie enjoyed herself but the experience was a bit overwhelming for her and she was perfectly content being pulled in the wagon or in the arms of Mom, Dad or Kellie. We decided not to get a pumpkin just yet since Halloween is still so far away but it was a great afternoon of fun none the less.

Mini Van Mom!

Well we did it! We finally broke down and bought a minivan. With 2 kids both in car seats, strollers, grocery's and passengers, our 4 door car just didn't have enough room anymore. We traded in one of our cars and bought a used 2002 Oldsmobile silhouette. I call it every grandfathers dream mini van because between the tan color, leather heated seats and auto car starter it just seemed like a van a grandpa would drive. Elias and Ann both LOVE it and its nice having all that space.

Oh no! They lost!

We just told Annie the vikings lost the first game of the season...she was pretty broken up about it .
