Finally some snow!

About a week after our brown Christmas, mother nature finally decided to drop some snow upon us! Usually this time of year we are not short on snow to play in but the temperatures are usually way to cold to go out and play in. This last week not only did we get snow but the temperatures have been in the low 30's which to us North Dakotan's is plenty warm to go outside and play. Brandon took the kids outside twice his last set of days off and they had a great time! The first time they just rode in the sled and got used to being in all those winter clothes! Today they went outside and built a snowman. The kids actually helped but I think they ate more snow then they put on frosty, who knew a big snowball would be their favorite snack! We had a ton of fun and it was nice to get outside and enjoy a relatively warm December day as a family.

Waiting...

Well I thought for sure this baby would be here by now! I am just now 39 weeks but for awhile my Dr. really wanted to induce me and I started dilating really early(for me at least) so I was totally convinced this baby was coming sooner rather then later. Alas I sit here at 5am wide away still pregnant. The last couple of days have been really nice since Brandon has them off and neither one of us has really anything to do.The kids have been busy playing with their Christmas presents since they are all so new and exciting and I hate to say this since I know chaos and sleep deprivation await, but it has actually been kinda boring around here with no one rushing off to school, work or running a million errands.  Yesterday we played playdough with the kids for awhile, sent them off to Grandmas while we cleaned and went out to dinner then Brandon took Elias to a movie and Annie and I cuddled up and watch the incredible. I have been working on my second Quiet book for the kids and doing some walking and lots of random chores to keep busy. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days, hopefully my next post with be a birth announcement!

Annie and Elias sitting down at the computer watching a slideshow with all the pictures from our Disney trip, the LOVE doing this,
So cute! He has his arm around her
We love that Elias says CHEESE now but he keeps closing his eyes, silly goober

Merry Christmas

The last two days were pretty eventful for us as they are with most familes! We started off Christmas eve daddy-less since he was sleeping after working until 8am. We played, watched a Christmas movie and baked Christmas cookies for Santa. After Daddy woke up we played some more and mommy dashed out to get a last minuet gift for Elias. We had our now traditional homemade pizza for dinner and the kids got a early bath by Grandma right after dinner. While the kids were in the bath, Brandon was getting dressed up as Santa and when the kids were all done with bath Santa rang the door bell and gave each of them a couple presents. Annie was scared of Santa even though she called him Daddy so she obviously knew it was him, Elias didnt' know his true identity but was very excited about the gifts. We ended the night by reading Twas the night before Christmas and The Grinch. Brandon had to finish wrapping some gifts and I finished 3 quick sewing project before heading to bed( jammies and 2 nursing wraps....seriously SO easy to make!). The next morning we made breakfast then dug right into gifts. Elias and Annie definitely get the concept now and had way to much fun tearing open every thing even if it wasn't for them. By lunch time they were both completely overwhelmed from all the new toys and emotionally exhausted from the festivities. We quickly cleaned up, organized the best we could, gave the kids lunch and mommy and the babies all took a very LONG nap before heading to Grandmas. We got to grandmas and opened gifts. Everyone got just what they always wanted( hello cloth diapers!!!!!) and it was SO nice out we decided to head outside to play. I have lived in ND for 13 years and never has it been nice enough to play outside on Christmas day! The kids loved being out side and it will definitely make this winter seem shorter...if it ever comes. After outside play time we all stuffed ourselves with dinner and ended the night playing with new toys and a nice long bath.
Once we got home and put the kids to bed it was work time for Brandon, Uncle Jordan and me. We took down ALL Christmas decorations, tree, santa etc. got all the baby stuff set up, rearranged the living room and cleaned the house after the Christmas bustle. I went to bed at midnight and Brandon still had lots of work left to do! He came to bed around 4 but when I woke up this morning it was all worth it, the house looked ready for a baby! The kids spent this morning playing with all their new toys while I took inventory of what we still needed to get organized, did laundry, more cleaning dishes etc..I am kncoking out this blog post, thank you cards and a little shopping before the day is done. I feel great that I don't have stuff hanging over my head and really feel ready for this baby to come anytime. I am a little sad that I spend the last few weeks fretting that it would all get done it time but luckly the kids didn't notice and had a great Christmas season.
Skyping with Aunt Nikki, Uncle Ted and Justin. The kids LOVED it, we have skyped a few times with various people but its always right after nap and just bad timing on my part. They did really good opening their presents and talking to nikki and justin

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 38 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: + 36 lbs
Maternity Clothes: for sure
Gender: Handsome Prince
Movement: I think he is finally starting to get a little cramped since he is moving around a lot less, I do however still see a giant elbow or something poking out of my side from time to time...seriously crazy!

What I miss: Just the ease of moving around
Sleep: Not so much, I have been staying up late finishing jammies, quiet books and other projects
Symptoms: Just your usual back pain and that's pretty much it. No swelling or headaches to that's nice
Cravings: Nothing specific although I did eat a ENTIRE carton of Haagen Dazs tonight....all 910 calories:)
Best Moment this week: Not being forced into being induced
What I am looking forward to: Going into labor on my own. For awhile there was talk about induction since I have big babies but this one seems to be "normal" so for now I don't have to be induced which I am VERY thankful for!

More Cookies

As if two separate Christmas cookie baking/decorating days were not enough, on Wednesday the whole Eberhardt clan headed over to Grandma's house to decorate cookies one last time. Mim baked the cookies before we got there so they were ready to decorate right away. Annie and Elias wasted no time in grabbing the frosting and going at it, they mostly ate the icing and some cookies but they did manage to decorate a few cookies with help from Daddy and Uncle Jordan. After Brandon and Jordan finished decorating the cookies we all enjoyed some yummy pizza...then cookies of course, then some play time. It was a sugar filled fun evening at Grandmas and if I was thinking I would have hidden some of the cookies to use for Santa but they are all gone so now tomorrow Elias, Annie and I will be baking MORE cookies so Santa has some when he brings presents! On a side note, my mom sent me a box full of her sewing stuff she doesn't use anymore. In it was these fabric appliques that I swear are straight out of 1993. I am not sure what my mother thought I would do with holiday themed bears but naturally I made shirts. I made some for Halloween and Christmas and I have the stuff to do shirts for Valentines day and Easter..thanks mom:)

December?

This winter has been unusually green...or rather brown. It has only snowed a couple of times and there isn't any on the ground at the moment. In fact today it got up to 50 degrees!!! It was so nice I decided to take advantage and took the kids outside. I moved all the car seats around in the van to make room for baby and the kids had a great time playing in the van and with uncle Jordan while I worked..OK Jordan helped with the heavy lifting. After that we took a trip to the park..in December! It was so nice being able to get outside this time of year. The kids had a great time and tomorrow when it is 25( which is the predicted high) we will all be wishing it was a balmy 50 again!
