Growing up in cloth

12 months
Happy Birthday my little man! I would say that I can't believe that you are one, but it seems like you should have been one long ago. From the start, you showed no interest in being a baby. You rolled, sat, crawled and walked long before you brother and sister did. You have already learned how to walk up and down the stairs climb on the couch, and climb up the stairs to your big brothers bunk bed. You have more words then your brother did by the age of 3! Your vocabulary consists of Ma-ma(like never) Da-da, daddy, happy, blanket, bah-bah, bath, book, all done, up, open, cookie, cracker. You mimick sounds animals( and santa) make. If I hadn't given birth to you, I wouldn't believe you are only one. You want to be included in your big brother and sisters games so bad, you are clearly a motivated kid. Your learning efforts have paid off as you are now included in all of the Eberhardt children games. You are a happy, smiley and very adventuresome baby and I love you so.much.!!
Weight: 21 lbs. You are the smallest of my babies. You are in-between 2th and 50th percentile for both height and weight, a true Eberhardt miracle. You have already outgrown all of your 12 month clothes due to that big cloth diapered butt of yours.
Eye Color- Mostly brown and he has a beautiful set of eyelashes to go with those big brown eyes.
Eating- Mr. Independent. Good luck trying to feed him anything, he has to have a spoon or spork at every meal even if it doesn't require one (grilled cheese). Still great at eating fruits, veggies, meats...anything!
Daily routine- Wake up at 7, play until Breakfast. Eat a massive amount of food followed by play time with brother and sister. Play, play play, poop, snack play play until nap. No more bottles for you so nap time routine has changed a bit but you transitioned wonderfully. More play time after nap, a snack, play, dinner play play, bath play play bed time snack, play play books, prayers and bed. You LOVE to play!
Firsts: So many!!! New words: Happy, blanket, open
Climbing adventures climb on couch, climb onto Annie's bed, climb over the ottoman blocking the stairs- up the stairs- to Elias' room-up the steps and onto his top bunk( I almost had a heart attack,.....like a real one!)
CAKE!
Birthday Celebrations: I already feel bad for poor Benjamin. For Annie and Elias' first birthdays we had parties, cake, presents the whole shebang It was just Christmas a couple weeks ago, the kid couldn't possibly want or need any new toys, he doesn't even play with half the ones we have( who would with such fun siblings around). School and work had just picked back up and everyone was busy so...we decided to do nothing...I know, call me a bad mom, I deserve it. We reheated leftover pizza whipped up a cake and called it good. Grandma Mim had bought him some pj's and Grammy framed a cross stitch piece papa had made. Brandon and I re-gifted some old toys we had in our storage unit....like major fail as parents, however, he was VERY happy and didn't know any better so pat on the back to me.
Sorry mom ,I chopped off your head. My dad cross stitched this then my parents had it framed. Its wonderful!!!!
Annie opening up lots of pj's for Benjamin he had found the video camera and was more happy with that...this is why we didn't buy him anything people!
Like all the children before, Benjamin was NOT interested in the cake....sigh one day one of my kids will dive in like a made for tv commercial. Oh. well. I got cute pictures of the event none the less.
What. is. this. magical light....Annie decided to crawl across the table and help her little brother blow out the candle
Hmmmm What to do with this?
Do I touch it?
uhhhh its squishy
maybe I will rub it on my belly
te-he-he-he-he this is fun
AHHHHHHH I like cake...on my belly
Ah, yes a spork, now I can really dive in
CHEESE, waiting patiently for her peice of cake
Seriously, how do I eat this?
mmmmm, yummy peice
What are you doing?
Here Kellie, you have some now
Happy Birthday to me!

Longest Christmas Day...EVER
Christmas Morning Take 1: We started off Christmas morning by getting the kids out the door and to Grandma Mim's house for breakfast. Everyone, including me, arrived still in our pj's. Who has the energy at 8am to get dressed in real clothes, not the Eberhardts! We ate a yummy breakfast consisting of egg bake, which Annie loved, muffins, pancakes etc. The kids were dancing in their pants waiting for the kitchen to get cleaned up so they could start opening gifts. I pressed record...and 3 min later it was over. The kids tore the wrapping paper off each gift and immediately moved onto the next. They did go back and appreciate each gift one at a time as it was opened and set up. All the time it takes to shop and wrap...3 min! After the kids were happily set up with their new toys, the grown ups took their turn at opening gifts. Brandon and I received a 4 month membership to Choice fitness...awesome!! On a side note, it is sooooo nice in there!!!! After a couple of hours of playing, it was time to head home. I was feeling pretty sick and the kids needed a nap

Ahhh the sweater! Every christmas this has made an apperance and every year it surprises me that it does! It will never get old opening this up and dying laughing. Thanks jordan
Jordan makes this look good
So cute! Uncle Jordan reading to his favorite kids
Christmas Day Take 2: After we got back to our house, we gave the kids a quick lunch and Benjamin, Annie and I all took a 2 hour nap. After we woke up I was feeling terrible. This feeling lasted the rest of Christmas day and for the next 5 days!( more on that another time) anyways. I pretty much just sat on my butt and took pictures so there is virtually no evidence that I was present this Christmas .oh well, such is life of a mom.
We made the kids open gifts one at a time and this helped keep the mess and chaos under control. There was so much joy and so many smilies, hugs and laughter. The kids are now at a stage where they get really excited over their gifts and show their delight by showing us with hugs and kisses. It was a wonderful hour...then the cleanup began
Brandon hunkered down to start attaching the 106 stickers that belonged on the teenage mutant ninja turtle van we bought Elias while I attempted to put toys away, clean up paper etc..uffda!
We eventually got to a point where you could see the floor, called it good and headed to my parents house.
Annie was SUPER excited about her disney princess castle

PLAY DOH!!! I am telling you, these kids were soooooo excited over everything
HAHA! So. This year Brandon tried to get the kids in the spirit of giving. He took them to the dollar store and let them each pick out a few gifts for mommy. I guess the kids were overjoyed with their options and settled on a water jug, silk flowers( one set from Annie and one from Elias) TWO flashlights, one red, one blue and Elias' prized red clock that he just had to get for me because he knew I would love it so much. It was hilarious opening these gifts and hearing the stories on how they picked each item out. I love my kids!
We completely forgot about the stockings! oops
PRINCESS BOOKS!
What?
Attempt at a family picture
hmmmm where does sticker 78 go????
Christmas Day The Final Act, Take 3:We got to my parents around 4. My mom had a wonderful spread of turkey, ham, homemade mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls etc etc etc. I was so sick I ate a few nibbles and that is all, next year I WILL make up for it!!!! The kids opened a few gifts from Grammy and Papa and played and played until dinner. Benjamin decided that he had had enough of being fed and demanded to feed himself and boy did he ever!He was double fisting as fast as his little hands could move. It was wonderful finally being able to spend Christmas with my family after 12 years of not celebrating with them! This was the first time since 2000 (when I was 18) that I was able to do so and it was great! It was a very tiring but very blessed day for all of us. The kids got some great gifts, hung out with family and enjoyed all the joy that Christmas brings.
