Thursday was the day of Annie's party! We went back and forth this year about what to do for her party. I came to the conclusion that due to the number of kids we have, the best thing for us would be to stick to family birthday parties. Having a "friend" party costs SO much plus you have to decided who to invite and hope you don't leave anyone out or offend anyone. We don't have the financial ( or emotional) resources to be throwing a party of some type every other month. I proposed this to Brandon and he agreed.
So, back to Thursday,we had school in the morning then Annie and Elias helped me decorate cupcakes and cake while the little boys napped. Elias had basketball and Brandon had to teach but FINALLY, around 5:30 my dad showed up with the pizza and the fun began!
Our "small" family party consisted of 7 Eberhardts, 5 Bruns', Mim and Kellie! Even though Annie had opened her gifts from us, she still had plenty of loot to tear into! She is the best gift opener EVER. She gets so excited over every single gift, its so fun to watch. We celebrated another milestone at the party as well! Samuel's first bday party where he didn't scream when gift opening began. We credit Kellie and starburst for this, good thinking Kellie!
After pizza, cake and presents, we chit chatted, cleaned up and bathed the kids. Auntie Melissa taught Benjamin some sweet dance moves and a good time was had by all. In rare birthday party fashion, I think we managed to get pictures of the birthday girl with most everyone who was there to celebrate with her!
After all the guests had left, and the Frozen lego set assembled, The kids headed downstairs for a slumber party and movie night! Annie had such a great couple of days, she didn't even notice she didn't have a "friend" party.
