Annie is in her last year of pre-team for gymnastics. Pre team is non competitive, but they do get the chance to participate in two Mini-meets throughout the year. One is right here in town and one is an away meet in Jamestown! Last year Annie, Nicholas and my mom went. This year, Nicholas was old enough to be left with daddy so Annie and I went. We decided to bring along Benjamin to keep Annie company in the car, which was mostly a good decision.
We left after breakfast and these two kept each other company almost the entire car ride. They asked lots of questions about the various signs along the highway but otherwise kept to themselves. When we got to Jamestown, we stopped for lunch at Subway then headed to the gym. The highlight of this trip started off right away when I got the closest possible parking spot to the entrance, how often does that happen at a big event...like never! Anyways, we went in, found Annie's team and went to find our seats.
Benjamin did the best he could not being terribly annoying. He is only 5 and this was pretty boring for him( after a 3 hour car ride). There was lots of sitting and waiting for the next thing to happen. Thankfully it wasn't jam packed near our seats so he was able to move and grove a bit without bothering anyone.
Annie did great. She remembered all of her routines, didn't fall on beam and didn't need to be spotted on floor or bars. She was much more confidant then she was last year! After the meet, we headed back for awards. After some ribbons, medal and party favors we headed back to Grand Forks! Once again Benjamin and Annie chit chatted the afternoon away. It was actually kinda peaceful for me!
