Easter Festivities

Easter seems so long ago it seems silly to write about but, here we go. 

Brandon got done with work at 8 am and we headed over to his moms house around 8:30. We ate a yummy breakfast and the kids opened up their Easter baskets. We tried to play outside for a bit but it was very windy and the air was still quite chilly! Jeff's grand daughter Nora was there and the kids were excited to have another person to play with. Since outside was a bust, we spent the morning playing with the new toys and pretty much just hanging out and eating lots of candy when adults weren't looking relaxing. 

Uncle Jordan telling Benjamin he can't ride his bike anymore because it had dog poop all over the wheels, that is about the time I headed in!

 We headed back to our house for a light lunch, because who needs lunch after all that candy! While the kids were nibbling on food, I hid a bunch of Easter eggs. We were supposed to have the Easter egg hunt at my parents but the timing didn't work out with their church schedule and our early morning out. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs and my mom bought lots of little things ( Easter basket type items) that the kids got after the egg hunt. I am pleased to say we could fit all the kids candy from both grandparents and us, in ONE Ziploc, this is truly an amazing accomplishment! Once again we spent time playing with our new toys and laying low.  

 We rested up and built up or appetites one more time, then headed to my parents house for Easter dinner. The weather had warmed up and the kids ate a quick dinner then spent time playing outside and running off all that sugar! I didn't really take any pictures at my mom's but fun was had by all. 

 This picture sums up every meal ever! Elias is crabby he is eating, Samuel is shoveling food Benjamin and Annie are goofing off and Brandon is ignoring it all to eat. Ah, gotta love family meals!

We got home well after bed time and very tired. The kids did not hesitate to remind me that they still had not opened their cards from Grandma Mary yet....good call kids, After the cards were opened the kids tucked their crisp $5 bills into their pockets and headed off to bed. After a very very good teeth brushing that is!

As per the usual with holidays, it was a very fast busy day filled with a lot of fun, toys and food. Every holiday I am reminded how very lucky I am to have both sets of grandparents in town to feed my kids yummy meals and spoil them with sugary treats!
